Camper Bit By Bear Near Pagosa Springs
PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - The search is on in Southern Colorado for a bear that bit a camper.
The woman was sleeping in a tent on private land south of Pagosa Springs when the bear clawed its way in and bit her arm.
The incident occurred Thursday night. The woman called for help and the bear ran away. Other campers called 911. The woman was treated for puncture wounds and released.
There was also a bear encounter in Conifer Friday night. Steve Gittelman took video of a mother bear and two cubs climbing a tree. Gittelman said the tree is filled with berries. He said their Chihuahua started barking and scared the bears away.
