Cameron Peak Fire Fueled By Hot, Dry Weather As Crews Draw Containment Lines
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews are expecting extreme fire behavior on the Cameron Peak Fire burning in Larimer County. Hot and dry weather is making it easier for hot spots to flare up.
A Red Flag Warning remained effect until 7 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters are working on the containment line and that work could kick up more smoke.
Some evacuations have been downgraded. Residents in the Glacier View area are under voluntary evacuation orders after the mandatory orders were lifted.
The fire is 42% contained and has burned 128,149 acres since it started Aug. 13.
