California Family Involved In Deadly I-70 Accident

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A family from California was involved in a deadly car crash on Interstate 70 Tuesday night.

Colorado State Patrol officials said a child was killed and six others were injured in a crash on I-70 west of the Eisenhower Tunnel. The driver lost control and rolled two and a half times.

Three children were ejected from the car, including a 4-year-old boy who was killed. Two of the children were airlifted to The Children's Hospital in Aurora and the other two children and adults were transported on the ground to Summit Medical Center.

State Troopers said a total of five children and two adults were packed into a 1992 Geo Prizm. The investigation into the crash continues, but officers don't believe alcohol or drugs are a factor.
