Broncos Sign Free Agent Offensive Lineman Louis Vasquez
DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos have signed free agent offensive guard Louis Vasquez.
Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway announced the agreement on Tuesday.
The deal is reported to be for $23 million over four years.
Vasquez has played his whole career for the San Diego Chargers and is entering his fifth year in the NFL.
In a news release the Broncos said according to STATS Inc., Vasquez has allowed just 11 sacks and one penalty during his career. He was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft from Texas Tech University.
The Broncos are just getting started. They've got a long list of free agents who are scheduled to visit – running back Rashard Mendenhall, cornerback Dominic Rodgers Cromartie, and defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, who played for Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio in Jacksonville. They also still have Dwight Freeney on the radar in case they can't strike a deal with Elvis Dumervil.
