Brighton Police Search For Attemped Murder Suspect

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Brighton have issued an arrest warrant for Jose Javier Martinez-Hernandez for attempted murder.

Police said Martinez-Hernandez intentionally drove into a 25-year-old woman with his car and continued to drive while she clung to the hood. The victim received life threatening injuries when she was thrown from the car several blocks later.

The assault happened just after midnight on Saturday, March 5 near 20th Avenue and Egbert Street in Brighton.

The woman remains in critical condition.

Police are searching for Martinez-Hernandez. He is described as a 21-year-old man, 5'5", 140 pounds, brown hair and eyes. His last known address was in Brighton.

Police ask if anyone has information on where Martinez-Hernandez might be, to call 911 or Brighton Police Detective Paul White 303-655-2324.
