Boy, 14, Stabbed In Steamboat Springs Library

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in both hands during an altercation in the Steamboat Springs library, and a 40-year-old man was arrested.

Police tell the Steamboat Pilot & Today newspaper the boy was stabbed Monday afternoon in a fight on a balcony overlooking the library's teen section.

The teen was taken to a hospital. His name and condition weren't released.

Police Capt. Joel Rae says officers arrested Adam Huber, 40. Rae says police and prosecutors will discuss possible charges. It's not clear if Huber has a lawyer.

Police and witnesses say the victim and two other boys had become rowdy when an adult confronted them. A witness, 27-year-old Erica Royer, tells the newspaper the adult grabbed one teen, and the 14-year-old then grabbed the adult and was stabbed.
