Blind Students Get Behind The Wheel For A Drive
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Many people may take for granted the independence that comes with being able to drive. But for some students from the Colorado Center for the Blind -- it's a brand new experience.
They had the chance to get behind the wheel at the Masterdrive obstacle course in Arapahoe County.
They also learned how to recover from a skid.
"The main, dominant feeling was just like, 'Wow, just like awe that I was able to be in this vehicle and actually be in control of it. It was amazing," blind driver Christin Johnson said.
Thirty-seven students took their turn on the course Wednesday.
