Bear Illegally Killed, Left On Trail Near Glenwood Springs
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A mother bear was found shot to death and left along a trail near Sunlight Mountain Resort near Glenwood Springs.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers are looking for the person responsible. They say it's illegal to shoot a bear and leave the carcass to waste.
The bear's cub was found lingering near her body and was captured by officers. It will be released into the wild.
An investigation is also underway after a bull elk was found dead in the Owl Creek area near Aspen. It was also illegally killed.
