Badges, Guns Stolen From Denver Police Officer's Home
DENVER (CBS4)- Badges, guns and tactical gear were stolen from the home of a Denver Police Officer and investigators are concerned about what the thief plans to do with them.
The officer lives in the District 4 neighborhood. The break-in happened Tuesday afternoon when the officer was not at home.
Police are not saying whether the officer's home was targeted because the thief knew a police officer lived there.
Police will not confirm how many or what type of firearms were stolen from the home. Also taken was tactical gear, including body armor, helmets and vests and badges.
"Someone can impersonate an officer and that's always a concern that someone would be able to misrepresent themselves and take advantage of someone else," said Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson.
Police in Denver are asking for help in recovering the stolen items.
