2 Shot In Aurora, Search Ongoing For Suspect
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police officers responded to the area near East Colfax Avenue and Beeler Street after two people, a man and a woman, were shot and injured Monday afternoon.
According to Aurora Police, the shooting occurred as a group of people was gathered near in the area. Both victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said the suspect left the scene. He is described as a light-skinned man wearing a black hoodie with a white stripe on the sleeves and blue jeans. He was reportedly wearing a black hat and a face covering as well.
While investigators combed through the scene of the shooting Monday evening, other officers had guns drawn while they checked a motel across the street. A police spokesperson said they found no evidence of the suspect and that he is still on the run.

This marks the fourth reported shooting on this stretch of Colfax in Aurora this year. Of the five people shot, three have died.
"It happens all the time. I can't even count how many times I've dialed 911," said Brian Kramer.
Kramer, who lives on Beeler Street, said he heard seven shots Monday evening. He called violence in the area "never ending," and pleaded for police to do more to keep people in the area safe.
"The problem isn't the people that live in the neighborhood, it's the corner, the hotels, the Riviera, the Carriage Inn and the drugs, prostitutes, and the gangs," Kramer said.
