Aurora Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Murder Witnesses

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Aurora Homicide Detectives and the family of Trison Mitta are asking for help identifying witnesses who saw Mitta shot and killed.

"This is a very difficult time. I'm really in deep sorrow. My concern now is about those people if they can help the community to bring this person to justice," said Trison's father, Isiah Mitta.

Mitta was shot around 11 p.m. at the Sports Station bar located in the 800 block of N. Dayton Street in Aurora last Friday, Jan. 28. He died at a hospital.

Police have released surveillance photos showing the suspect walking into the bar.

Now, they're asking for help in identifying five people who were possibly involved with or saw the senseless murder. Detectives have released new surveillance photos that show two vehicles that may be involved.

One vehicle is described as a gray SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon. The second vehicle is described as a gray, 4-door with dark tinted windows, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am.

Police would like to talk to three black men in their late teens to early 20s. At the time of the shooting one was wearing a plaid jacket and plaid hat.

They would also like to talk to two black women, one described as being very tall and was wearing very short white shorts with high heels.

The other woman has light skin and distinguishable tattoos on her left thigh, right upper arm, and also on her back between her shoulder blades.

"For this killing, random killing, please I ask who knows that person or who helped that person to bring him to justice. it's not only for my son, but for the community and for everybody," said Isiah Mitta.

In addition to the reward offered by Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, Aurora Police are offering an additional reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for committing this homicide.
