2 Dead, 2 Injured In Shooting At Aurora Apartment Complex
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Two men are dead and two people were hurt in a shooting at an apartment complex in Aurora. It happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday.
The shooting happened at the Sable Cove Condominiums, 982 S. Dearborn Way in Aurora. That's near S. Sable and Mississippi Ave.
When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot and killed. A man and a woman, believed to have lived in the apartment, were also shot. They were rushed to a local hospital. A toddler inside the apartment where the shooting happened was unharmed.
Police said they are investigating whether the two men stormed the apartment looking for medical marijuana. They apparently thought the man who lived there was a medical marijuana provider. However, police said it is still early in the investigation and it is unclear what the motive was. Police are not searching for any suspects.
"We have no reason to believe that we are still looking for anybody. We do believe that everybody who was involved in this tragic incident is accounted for," said Aurora Police Sgt. Cassidee Carlson.
Copter4 flew over the shooting scene Thursday afternoon. Police had cordoned off the complex with crime scene tape. Several streets in the neighborhood surrounding the complex were closed during the investigation. Some neighborhood schools were also on lock down after the shooting.
