Aurora Man Sentenced To Prison Over Child Porn
DENVER (AP) -- An Aurora man accused of possessing more than 30,000 images of child pornography has been sentenced to eight years and four months in federal prison.
Prosecutors said Friday that a federal judge has ordered 64-year-old John Heckart to serve five years on supervised release after his prison term, and he must pay $5,000 in restitution to his victims.
A plea agreement says Homeland Security Investigations, a branch of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, learned Heckart had subscribed to two websites that offered child pornography for a monthly fee.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
