Aurora Fire Rescues Person Trapped In Burning Apartment
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters in Aurora saved a person from a burning apartment early Tuesday morning.
Just after midnight firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire with people possibly trapped inside on Macon Street.
"Upon arrival fire crews found smoke coming from the second floor unit. Fire crews found one person had jumped from the second floor and informed them that his friend was still inside," officials with Aurora fire said in a statement.
Aurora police assisted in the evacuating other apartments while firefighters found the person who was trapped inside.
"The victim was extricated and transported emergent with fire medics attending. The second victim was treated and transported," officials said.
Damage is estimated at $25,000. The cause is under investigation.
