Arvada Mom, Daughter Accused In ID Theft Ring

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) -- A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted an Arvada mother and daughter accused of operating a Denver-area identity theft ring.

Prosecutors said Thursday that more than 200 victims including individuals, financial institutions and retailers are believed to have lost a total of about $60,000.

The indictment accuses 45-year-old Cassandra Janine Ghirardi and 27-year-old Alexandra Wilde of racketeering, identity theft, conspiracy and money laundering. Their phone numbers aren't listed, and they couldn't be reached for comment.

Ghirardi is accused of stealing people's mail and using the stolen personal and financial information to make checks so she and Wilde could buy items to resell on eBay.

Wilde is free on a $5,000 bond. An arrest warrant is out for Ghirardi, who is believed to be in California.
