Adele, Beyoncé Among The Nominees For The 2017 GRAMMY Awards

(CBS4) - Nominations for the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced Tuesday morning from more than 22,000 submissions entered.

CBS4 will carry the Grammys live on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, beginning at 6 p.m. Denver time.

James Corden of The Late, Late Show on CBS will be the host for the first time.

This year, Beyoncé leads nominations with nine, followed by Drake, Rihanna and Kanye, who each earn eight.

The dynamic range of this year's nominees represents a mix of genres, such as those for Album of the Year: 25 — Adele; Lemonade — Beyoncé; Purpose — Justin Bieber; Views — Drake and A Sailor's Guide To Earth — Sturgill Simpson.

Adele has five nominations, but she and Beyoncé compete in four major categories. In addition to Album of the Year, they are both nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

CBS4's special schedule that night begins at 4:30 p.m. coming out of the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am into a special 4:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. CBS4 newscast. At 5 p.m. will be a special half-hour version of 60 Minutes, followed by a live Red Carpet Special 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. leading into the awards at 6 p.m. They're scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m., when we'll go to CBS4 News.
