Adams County School Dist. 50 Superintendent To Step Down

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The superintendent for Adams County School District 50 will step down in two months. The announcement was made during a board meeting of Adams Co. Dist. 50 Thursday night.

Roberta Selleck has been the focus of a couple of investigations by CBS4 Investigator Brian Maass. She has led Dist. 50 since 2006, overseeing 19 schools.

Her boldest move in the position was to group students by performance, not age.

Selleck came under fire when she sent 34 teachers and administrators to Alaska to see the program up close, at a cost of $48,000.

Four months ago, a CBS4 Investigation revealed the district had consistently paid credit card bills late, racking up finance charges and late fees.

Another CBS4 probe in March revealed that the district quadrupled professional development allowances for dozens of administrators in the midst of massive budget cuts.

Selleck's resignation was accepted by the school board Thursday night.
