Actors Explore MLK Legacy In Political Play

DENVER (CBS4) - MLK Day is an opportunity for the nation to celebrate the tremendous leadership of Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as the great strides society took during the civil rights movement.
Two actors are currently steeped in that history as they prepare to play Coretta Scott King and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a play called "All The Way". The political drama focuses on King's relationship with President Lyndon Baines Johnson as the two worked to get the Civil Right Act passed.
"It's interesting to explore all the little chemical reactants, or accelerants, that led up to the actual explosion that we know as the victories of the civil rights movement," said Terence Archie, who plays Dr. King.
"All The Way" focuses on the man behind the legend that Dr. King has become, showing the personal sacrifices that he made to further the movement.
"It was him overcoming or challenging his fears that allowed him to become the leader that he was for the civil rights movement," said Tracey Conyer Lee, who plays Coretta Scott King.
