9 Best Checks/Fights From The Avs Season So Far

DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Avalanche's season has been somewhat rocky so far, but it certainly hasn't been lacking in aggression.

There have been many intense hits and even some fights during Avs games, and Getty Images photographers have been there to capture some of the craziest of them.

The following are the nine best hockey hits or fights captured by those photographers in the first quarter of the 2014-2015 season:

9. Jarome Iginla and Brayden Schenn

Colorado Avalanche Tanner Glass of the New York Rangers and Cody McLeod of the Avalanche got into a fight during the first period at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 13, to the delight of fans on the other side of the glass. Also, it must be noted that McLeod must have a hard time eating corn on the cob with those missing front teeth.

5. Cody McLeod and Zac Rinaldo

Colorado Avalanche The referee had to break things up between Cody McLeod of the Avalanche and Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers on Nov. 8. Look at those fighting faces on display on the ice! Both skaters look like they would enjoy nothing more than some fisticuffs. Maybe next time they meet Rinaldo might lose some of his teeth.
