79-Year-Old Man Found Dead At Firing Range

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A coroner's investigator says a man found dead at the Weld County Fish and Game firing range may have accidentally shot himself.

Coroner's investigator Maureen Moore says 79-year-old Frank Moore, of Fort Collins, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest Tuesday evening at the firing range near Galeton. The two are not related.

She tells the Greeley Tribune that Mr. Moore was experienced with guns and was considered a marksman.

She says an autopsy and investigation have ruled out suicide, but there doesn't appear to have been any foul play either. She says no one witnessed the shooting.

The Tribune reports Mr. Moore was a retired professor of horticulture at Colorado State University.
