3-Month-Old Killed In Springs, Father Arrested
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Police have arrested a 19-year-old Colorado Springs man in the death of his 3-month-old son.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports James. E. Pierce was arrested Monday on a charge of first-degree murder after the coroner ruled his son Jayden Pierce had been beaten to death.
Pierce is being held without bail. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
Police responding to a 911 call on April 15 call found Jayden unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say they didn't disclose the death earlier because they feared media coverage would prompt Pierce to flee.
