3 Families Displaced By Fire At Aurora Apartment Complex
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora firefighters are trying to figure out the cause of an apartment fire on Saturday.
Fire crews rushed to the Fitzsimmons Place Apartments at 1568 Nome Street just after noon. When they arrived they saw smoke and flames coming from the top floor.
"I saw flames shooting out of that bedroom window and black smoke." resident Tanya Parker said. "It was horrible. I'm just glad I wasn't in there."
"Smoke billowing out of one of the central units on the fourth floor; gasping for air, a lot of people breathing in the heavy, heavy, heavy smoke coming out," resident David Blankenship said. "And then everybody made there was out; pretty much organized chaos."
Three families were displaced because of the fire.
