3 Face Charges In Alleged Driver's License Scheme
DENVER (AP) - Three Denver-area residents are accused of helping non-English speakers fraudulently obtain Colorado driver's licenses and learner's permits.
Sikiru Fadeyi of Centennial, Djibrill Sana of Aurora and Omar Masakira of Denver are due to be arraigned Wednesday in federal court in Denver. They face multiple counts of mail fraud. Fedeyi also faces one count of bribery.
Fadeyi owns the commercial driving school Ola's Auto Services in Denver. A federal grand jury indictment alleges that from February 2009 through June 2011, Fadeyi accepted between $100 and $1,000 from applicants for Colorado driver's licenses and instruction permits before falsely giving them passing grades on driving tests.
The indictment alleges Sana and Masakira recruited the applicants, while Fadeyi falsified test results.
Federal prosecutor say 1,458 driver's licenses tied to Fadeyi have been revoked.
