2 Rafters Hospitalized After Commercial Boat Flips
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Two rafters have been hospitalized after a commercial boat carrying seven rafters flipped over on the Poudre River.
The Larimer County Dive Team helped rescue a rafter stranded on an island.
Larimer County sheriff's spokesman John Schulz says some of the rafters may have suffered hypothermia.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, spring melt-off from the basin's above-average winter snowpack is causing high flows of frigid, cold water.
A ban on inner tubes, air mattresses and small, single-chamber rafts remains in effect on the river.
