2 Motorcyclists Killed In Separate Aurora Crashes

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4/AP) - Two motorcyclists have died in separate collisions in the Denver suburb of Aurora.

Both collisions occurred Aug. 8.

In the first crash, police say the motorcyclist, identified as Guillermo Vazquez-Lopez, 37, collided with a sedan and was found about 300 feet away. Investigators say he died at the scene. The driver of the sedan has been identified as Gerardo Vazquez-Miranda, 22, of Aurora. No charges are expected to filed against Vazquez-Miranda.

Police say Vazquez-Lopez is believed to have been living in Silverthorne and was in the process of moving to the metro area.

Police say an officer had observed that motorcycle and another going 65 mph in a 40 mph zone. A couple believed to have been riding the other motorcycle returned to the scene, and Jose Garcia-Reyes, 38, of Aurora was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

In the second crash, investigators say the motorcyclist, identified as Daniel Martin, 25, of Aurora was accelerating when it collided with an SUV turning left from the opposite direction. The driver of the SUV was identified as Fendia Laurent, 26, of Aurora. She is not expected to be charged in the accident.

No one else was injured.
