2 Firefighters Injured Battling Duplex Fire In Superior

SUPERIOR, Colo. (CBS4) - Two firefighters were rushed to the hospital after getting injured while fighting a fire in Superior on Sunday.

The fire broke out just after 1 p.m. in a duplex located in the 300 block of South 3rd Avenue. Firefighters from Rocky Mountain Fire District rushed to put it out but said the duplex was completely destroyed.

One firefighter was injured when the roof collapsed.

"They've both been transported right now, they're in stable condition, but we're just going to transport them to make sure they're okay," Rocky Mountain Fire District Chief Michael Tombolato said.

Two dogs died in the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
