2 Colorado Residents Die In Alaska Head-On Crash

SOLDOTNA, Alaska (AP) - Two residents of Montrose, Colorado, died Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula.

Alaska State Troopers say 77-year-old Jerold Greer was behind the wheel of a northbound pickup that crossed the centerline of the Kenai Spur Highway near Mile 3 and crashed into a southbound motorhome.

Greer and a passenger, 71-year-old Donna Greer, died at the scene.

The driver of the motorhome, 71-year-old Charles Wiesneth, and a passenger, 50-year-old Robin Wiesneth, were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital with injuries that troopers describe as non-life-threatening.

Their hometown in Florida was not immediately released.

Both vehicles were demolished.

Troopers took a call on the crash at 2 p.m.
