2 Colorado Highway Workers Injured In Greeley
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Two Colorado highway workers have been injured after the second crash involving road crews in a week.
The latest accident happened Friday morning in Greeley as highway crews were setting up a lane closure for a bridge inspection. Transportation department spokeswoman Stacey Stegman said two workers were sitting in a vehicle when it was rear ended by a tractor-trailer driving on the shoulder.
She said the injuries to the woman and man aren't life-threatening.
The crash happened a week after another highway worker was hit along Interstate 70 near Evergreen. He remains in the hospital in serious condition.
Because of that crash, authorities are holding an event Friday to remind drivers to slow down or move over if they see highway or emergency trucks.
