16-Year-Old Graduating With Honors From CU Boulder
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Natasha Goss was 13 when she arrived at the University of Colorado in Boulder after graduating from Silver Creek High School in Longmont.
On May 10, the 16-year-old is graduating summa cum laude with a major in chemistry and a minor in mathematics.
This fall, Goss plans to begin a doctoral program in atmospheric chemistry at Harvard University on a National Science Foundation research fellowship.
During her time at CU, Goss served as chair of the CU Environmental Board, which provides policy and strategic direction to the CU Environmental Center. The center's director Dave Newport remembers Goss telling him she loved homework. Newport quips that if he had a nickel for every time an incoming student said that to him, he'd have one nickel.
