15-Year-Old Charged In Shooting Death In Mesa County

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Mesa County authorities have arrested a 15-year-old boy in the shooting death of another 15-year-old over the weekend.

The Daily Sentinel reports that the boy's arrest was announced Wednesday. He faces a felony count of manslaughter and two misdemeanor charges.

The victim, Brandon Crawford, was also 15. He died Sunday of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Multiple people were reportedly inside a home at the time of the shooting.

Authorities on Monday had indicated there was no evidence of "malicious" intent by the shooter and characterized it as an "isolated incident."
