13 Crazy Crashes During The Alpine Ski World Championships

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (CBS4) - Throughout the World Alpine Ski Championships in the Vail Valley in the first half of this month there was some awe inspiring skiing on display.

For example, Colorado native Mikaela Shiffrin became the third woman to win back-to-back slalom titles at the championships and American Ted Ligety roared back from a first-run deficit to win his third straight giant slalom title.

There were also some agony-of-defeat type crashes, with American Bode Miller's high speed tumble being perhaps the most memorable.
