1 Lane Closed On US 40 Near Steamboat After Slide

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - One lane of U.S. Highway 40 near Steamboat Springs has reopened following a rockslide.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today reports that one car is believed to have been damaged in Monday morning's slide. No serious injuries were reported.

A portion of the highway between Steamboat and Hayden was closed for about two hours but one lane reopened to alternating traffic by late morning.

It's the third slide in the area this month.

A Hayden woman was injured when a rock crashed through the windshield of her vehicle about a mile away from the latest slide. A few days later, a boulder fell, landed on the shoulder of the highway and broke apart. A truck hit part of the rock but no one was injured.
