IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -Surveillance video made public helped Irving Police identify a 19-year-old murder suspect from a deadly stabbing January 25, 2015.

Police say Octavio Lopez-Lara is the person responsible for the stabbing death of Osvaldo Mendoza, 22.

There is an active warrant for his arrest for murder with the bond set at $2,000,000. Detectives believe Lopez-Lara fled to Guanajuato, Mexico shortly after the crime to avoid capture; however, anyone with information as to his exact whereabouts is asked to contact the Irving Police Department.

The stabbing happened shortly before 4:00 a.m. on January 25 in the 2900 block of Proctor Street on reports of a stabbing. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and his friends were involved in a traffic altercation in Dallas with the occupants of another vehicle. Both vehicles drove into Irving and stopped on Proctor Street. The suspect approached the victim and stabbed him multiple times with a knife.
