IRVING (CBS11) – Irving Police have launched a social media campaign to warn residents of the dangers associated with bumper stickers and the information they can unknowingly provide a would be criminal.

At issue are decals that indicate how many people may live in a persons home, where their children go to school and among others parking decals that show where someone parks.

The campaign according to police aims at sending a strong warning to motorists who use the personalized decals.

Police say a criminal could use that information to victimize a person or their family.

Police say sometimes those details offer a criminal the information they need to profile a victim.
