IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - A pair of Irving Police officers shot and killed a robbery suspect at a check cashing store Friday afternoon.

Police say it happened at the Cash Store at 4101 W. Airport Freeway shortly after 1:00 p.m.

Police say the first officer on the scene saw the suspect and the suspect grabbed a hostage telling the officer he would kill her.

Police say the suspect worked his way around to the side of the building and tried to put the victim in his car when officers shot and killed the suspect.

Police say the same store had been robbed at gunpoint on January 14 and their store in North Irving had been hit a few days before that.

Investigators are working to see if the robberies are connected.
