PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- KYW Newsradio is taking a look back at some of the top stories of 2014. It's a case in Philadelphia that piled horror upon horror.
Two young men are now awaiting trial in a case of carjacking, sexual assault, and the massacre of a family.
Thirty-four-year-old Keisha Williams and her three children, ages 15, 10 and 7, were fundraising on the busy street corner of Germantown and Allegheny, selling fruit and water, while about a mile away, evil was unfolding.
A female real estate agent was carjacked.
Prosecutor Brendan O'Malley said, "She is an innocent victim who is brutally assaulted, punched in the face multiple times. She is sexually assaulted by two individuals."
This as the carjackers sped through the streets of North Philadelphia. The horror would grow exponentially when a tire blew and the car careened out of control.
Attorneys for defendants Jonathan Rosa and Cornelius Crawford, who have pleaded not guilty, say they are looking for deals that would spare their clients life in prison, but concede the DA may not deal.
