Worker Shocked In Southwest Philly; Taken To Hospital

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia Street Department worker was taken to the hospital after he was shocked in Southwest Philadelphia Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at about 10:40 a.m. at 51st Street and Woodland Avenue.

According to officials, the worker was in a bucket truck when he came in contact with an overhead wire and was shocked while fixing a street light.

The worker was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with minor burns to his face and hands. He is listed in stable condition.

PECO briefly suspended power in that area until the situation was under control.

The incident remains under investigation.
