Week 16: Eagles Studs And Duds

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Unfathomably, the Eagles' 2014 season will end up with ever having the -15 part. A 2015 January Eagles playoff game, once a certainty just three weeks ago, will not happen. The man that was so loved by this city, Chip Kelly, is now being lambasted by those same people.

Everything fell apart so quickly and it all culminated this weekend when the Eagles fell in painful fashion to DeSean Jackson and the Washington Redskins 27-24, a day before the Cowboys smoked the Colts, officially eliminating the Eagles from postseason contention.

Duds

3. Mark Sanchez

Statically, Sanchez actually had a great day: 37-50, 374 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and a fumble. Except, the lone interception came on the Eagles' final drive with the game still in doubt.

Sanchez's turnovers ultimately doomed the Eagles again.

2. Cary Williams

He continues to take bone head penalties, extending drives for opposing offenses. It's painful to watch.

1. Bradley Fletcher

After giving up three touchdowns to Dez Bryant in Week 15, Fletch allowed two deep catches to DeSean Jackson, of all people. Fletcher officially has lost all confidence. He'll be a free agent after the season and I would be shocked if he was back in Philly next season.

Studs

3. Riley Cooper

Gotta give credit when credit is due. Cooper had his best game of the season, catches five balls for 53 yards and two scores.

2. Mychal Kendricks

Kendricks has blossomed into a dynamic young linebacker, who consistently makes plays game in and game out. On Saturday, Kendricks recorded a team-high 10 tackles, a sack, two tackles for a loss, a pass defended, and two quarterback hits.

He was everywhere.

1. Zach Ertz

Ertz had the best game of his NFL career, a historic day for an Eagles pass-catcher. Ertz tallied a franchise record 15 catches for 115 yards, his first-career 100-yard game. His 15 receptions were tied for the second-highest most by an NFL tight end since 1960.
