Wednesday's Child: Emmonie

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Sixteen-year-old Emmonie is bursting with creativity. She draws, she dances, she even crochets.
"When I crochet, I like to make bags, blankets, gloves, scarves, hats, slippers," she says.
And Emmonie says she'd love to learn how to make sweaters for babies so she can donate them.
All of this, she says, puts her at peace.
"Like, if I'm upset and then I want to do art, I'll go to art. And then all of my sadness won't be... (I won't be) that much upset, because I'm doing art."
Her favorite subject is math, and she says school is very important to her. And she says she wants to be a police officer when she grows up.
"I watch TV shows" I watch 'Law and Order,' or 'Cops.' I watch them, and I like helping people. I just don't like seeing people on the streets or fighting or killing somebody else," she says.
And, she says, she wants a permanent family who could help her reach her goal of going to college.
