New Website Aims To Help Voters Make Informed Decisions On Entire Ballot
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Many voters have already decided who will get their vote for president, but what about all the other candidates and referendums on the ballot? A new website aims to help you choose wisely.
It's called Ballot Ready, and its mission is to inform voters about every candidate on their personal ballot. Co-founder and CEO Alex Niemczewski says it provides a lot of information.
"Candidates stances on issues, who endorses them, their previous experience," she says, "so that you can make informed decisions all the way down the ballot."
Niemczewski says the site also provides thorough information on referendums and questions on the ballot.
"We show you the full text of the referendum. We show you what a 'yes' vote means, what a 'no' vote means," she explained. "We show you organizations and elected officials that endorse a 'yes' vote or a 'no' vote so you can have some context for it."
Niemczienski says everyone at some point has had to guess about a candidate or an issue, and she hopes that this site decreases the amount of guessing at the ballot box.
"Our goal is for people to not guess when they get to those down-ballot races," she said, "to actually know who, what the options are and make an informed choice."
