Weather: Frigid Air Before Sunday Snow

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  An arctic air mass and whipping winds will drive wind chills below zero Saturday morning.

Despite sunny skies temperatures will only rebound into the 20s, with wind chills in the teens.

We are carefully watching a storm out west that will arrive Sunday afternoon/evening.

Right now, I expect mainly snow in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos with at least 6 inches of snow. In Philadelphia's Northern and Western Suburbs, 3-6" of snow is possible, with some mixing with sleet and rain.

Philadelphia, South and East, 1-3" of snow is forecast with mixing (with rain).

The precipitation will be mainly rain in Cumberland, Atlantic and Cape May Counties, and in Delaware.

The forecast challenge: "how far north will the warm air (rain) get?"

This will impact snow amounts.

We will have new information in later today and have an update!
