WEATHER BLOG: Weekend Changes Are Coming!
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It may be pleasant and mild now, but don't get too comfortable...
How rude of me. Get as comfortable as you'd like! Enjoy the next couple of days. Just don't get too used them, as some changes are a-comin'.
Sun will mix with clouds at times and high temperatures will be comfortable in the low 70s today and tomorrow. A cold front from the west will move in later tomorrow, bringing showers from around midnight through early afternoon on Saturday. Many locations will see some sunshine by mid to late afternoon on Saturday as the front pulls away, and that sunshine will stick around for the remainder of the weekend. However, behind the front it will be breezy and temperatures will begin to plummet. It will begin to feel chilly by late Saturday, and lows on Sunday morning aren't likely to escape the 40s! Sunday will feel more like the first week of November than October.
Today's Highs:
Philly - 72
Shore - 71
Poconos - 65
Union Forecast (8PM) - A few clouds, 64, ENE 5 mph
On this day in weather history...
1929 - A hurricane moved through the Bahamas then curved around the Florida peninsula and moved into the panhandle. The storm then moved NE over land, passing through eastern PA as a tropical storm. Heavy rain accompanied the storm, with Philadelphia receiving 1.52" and NYC 2.16", both daily records.
