Watch: Ride Through Philly With Joel Embiid

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Joel Embiid was the 3rd overall draft pick of the 76ers in 2014, but hasn't played one NBA game due to foot injuries.

If he ever steps on the court, however, look out. Embiid's size, skill, and personality gives him all the tools to be the city's next superstar.

Embiid candidly spoke with VICE Sports for a must watch 'Ride Along' YouTube video. You can watch it here

In the video, Embiid says:

  • When he first watched basketball at the age of 15: NBA Finals between Lakers and Celtics
  • Kobe Bryant became his favorite player
  • "I used to suck" at basketball
  • He tells a Bill Self story
  • Embiid says his foot "wasn't even hurting" we he had to have his second straight surgery
  • Embiid talks about tanking and says "everybody wants to win"
  • "I'm lovable, I'm funny, I always make jokes."
  • All he does is play video games, workout, and watch basketball
  • He talks about his Twitter account and says he might start to "go back to his ways" when he starts playing
  • He jokes about drinking Shirley Temples...three or four pitchers per day
  • "Nobody really cares about the media. I'm just gonna let my game do the talking."
