Violent Armed Robbery In Old City Caught On Video
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are investigating a violent armed robbery that occurred earlier this month in Old City.
Authorities say just before 2 a.m. on April 8, two men were standing on the 300 block of Bank Street when two suspects exited a newer model Kia Optima and approached them.
Police say the first suspect, who was armed with a handgun, began beating the 24-year-old victim in the head while demanding his belongings.
The second suspect went in the victim's pockets and took a brown wallet containing various forms of identification, a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and $200, police say.

The first suspect then dropped the handgun while beating the victim, and the second suspect picked it before they both re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.
Police describe the first suspect as a black male, in his mid-thirties, 5'8", with short hair and a thin build. He was wearing a silver mask covering the bottom of his face and was armed.
The second suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, with facial hair. Police say he was wearing a dark-colored zip up hoodie.
