PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a cool and damp start to the weekend, improving conditions return for the second half of the weekend.

Clouds and showers kept high temperatures well below average in the mid 70s on Saturday, but an area of high pressure moving in will bring back the sunshine for Sunday. Temperatures will still remain below average near 80 on Sunday, as a northeasterly wind flow off of the Atlantic Ocean.

The high pressure area will remain in control for much of next week, keeping the forecast sunny and dry. High temperatures will warm up a few degrees each day and make a run at 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
