The 116th Army - Navy Game Is A Big Hit With Fans At The Linc'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Navy prevails yet again, winning the 116th Army-Navy game 21-17. With spring-like weather, and fired up crowd the game definitely lived up the hype.
The tens of thousands of fans were caught a bit off guard, as Army held a 3-point lead over the heavily Favorited Midshipmen at the half, but many fans like Bob from New York, had faith in Navy.
"They're a good second half team," he said. "They're a very good football team, but especially a good second half team this year."
And that faith paid off, as Navy did prevail. Besides the game itself, a big draw for many fans is the fun the day provides, and that's what drew Derrick in.
"Drove all the way from Canada to watch the Army-Navy game. I was not disappointed. It was fantastic," Derrick said.
Kevin had a shorter trip from Atlantic City, and said it's a game everyone should make a point of attending at least once.
"If you're a red, white, and blue American this has got to be one of your bucket list things," Kevin said. "This, going to see Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Army-Navy game. Especially if you live in the area, you have no excuse not to come here."
