Teens Arrested In Break-In, Vandalism At Church In Mayfair
By Jenn Bernstein
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police believe three teenagers broke into a Mayfair church and vandalized its property.
It happened early Wednesday morning at the Church of Grace to Fujianese on Wellington Street.
Investigators say two of the suspects -- one of them 18, the other a juvenile -- were arrested and are in custody.
They are still searching for the third suspect.
Police say just after 2 a.m., they responded to the church. While there, two of the suspects ran while the third remained inside the building.
He was arrested thanks to help from a K-9 searching the church.
Police also caught a young woman who tried to run from the scene.
It's believed they gained entry through a second floor broken window.
The sign on the lawn of the church is also damaged.
The Church of Grace to Fujianese opened in 2008 and is a branch of a Chinese church based in New York.
