Authorities responded for a person bit by a dog on the 500 block of Yale Avenue in Swarthmore shortly after 10 a.m.
Police say a woman was walking her dog when another dog escaped from its yard on the 300 block of Brighton and attacked her dog.
In the process of breaking up the dog fight, the woman was bit by the loose dog and lost the tip of one of her thumbs.
The person was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the dog was taken into custody and will be evaluated to a 10-day quarantine, and then evaluated again to make sure it's in good health. The dog will then be released to its owner.
Police say the animal will not be euthanized because the dog did not attack the woman, just her dog.
The dog is not deemed a threat to the public.
