Study: More Video Games Could Mean Higher Grades For Your Child
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The typical notion is that you take video games away from your child as a punishment. If you're a parent, you've probably withheld the game system when your child brings home a bad grade.
A new study is suggesting that maybe you should try the opposite and give them the game system when the grades slips.
According to the study, published in the International Journal of Communication, teens who regularly play video games scored higher than average in math on an international exam.
Meanwhile, teens who spent their time regularly scanning their social media feeds scored four percent worse.
Researchers are hoping that the results of the study will help improve future teaching methods.
