State Education Website Posts Salary Info For Pa. Teachers

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Salaries for Pennsylvania public school teachers and administrators have been released online.

The state Department of Education posted the financial data Wednesday to its School Performance Profile website.

Visitors to paschoolperformance.org can also see instructional costs, average per-pupil expenses and sources of funding for each district.

Rep. Jim Christiana of Beaver County worked with state officials to make the public numbers more accessible. He says residents should know how districts are spending more than $27 billion in taxpayer money each year.

Website users can find the figures by clicking on a tab to "View Fiscal Information" for a given district. That spreadsheet offers a link to personnel salaries.
